This is really an extraordinairy bird-shaped brooch: maybe it is a hummingbird. The surface is covered with particoloured transparent layers of enamel, and the deep color of gold shines through it. Inside of the brooch is a partly covered, soft shimmering big pearl, which creates the body of the bird and can be seen at the side through an open work inlay. This charming appearance is increased by the bird's eyes: deep blue, cut sapphire, which reflect the sunlight each time when moving. A really gorgeous piece of jewelry and an excellent goldsmith's art! Very good condition.
