Malachite is mainly used as a jewellery stone and in arts and crafts. The banding, which occurs in various shades of green and is visible similar to wood grain, is particularly beautiful and valued accordingly. Finely ground malachite has been used since ancient times as a pigment known as "cold green" for wall paintings.
Vintage modernist bracelet with malachite. The bracelet consists of abstractly shaped links, each of which is set with an oval malachite disc. The stones have a beautiful grain. Box clasp with safety chain. Marked, made in the Engla jewellery manufactory. Created in the 1960s/70s.
