Vintage Oly Brooch in 835/- Silver and a Pearl
Burkhard Oly (1938-2008) began training at the State Drawing Academy in Hanau in 1957 together with his later wife Monika. In 1963, Oly was awarded the Bavarian State Prize, and in 1971 the Grand Silver Prize of Mexico. In the 1970s and 80s, the precious metal stamp designed by Oly with a smile composed of the three letters of the family name became a trademark in jewellery design.
Interestingly shaped abstract brooch with a pearl. Solid cast, oval, openwork body, decorated with depressions and set with a baroque pearl. Surface partially blackened. Back with brooch. Marked, Made in the jewellery studio of Monika and Burkhard Oly (Studio Oly) in Gelnhausen, around 1970-1980.
