Question about item

A striking ladies' ring with a large amethyst in an abstract, openwork basket setting. The amethyst was made in an elaborate old cut and fixed in its basket. The openwork basket elements were additionally set with ornate triangles that look like masks when viewed closely. The ring rail was reinforced at the basket with additional bars. Unique goldsmith work from around 1960. Condition excellent.
