Pair of antique wine glasses with vine leaf decoration
Hans Christiansen is one of the most important representatives of German Art Nouveau. Trained at the Munich School of Arts and Crafts, he worked in many different ways as a designer and graphic artist. He lived, worked and taught in Munich, Paris, Wiesbaden and Darmstadt.
Two Art Nouveau wine glasses, designed by Hans Christiansen (1866-1945). Made by Theresienthaler Kristallglasfabrik around 1905. Bellied, indented dome with wine leaf decoration in translucent enamel painting and schwarzlot contour. Gilded lip rim, with so-called enthasis stem (conical stem with central thickening), disc foot with gold rim as well as green star decoration, dislocated break-off glass. Very good undamaged condition.
