Dupont Cosmetic Case with Interior from 1925/30
For around 150 years, the name S.T. Dupont has been synonymous with true luxury, combining creativity, uncompromising quality and unique design. Simon Tissot Dupont opened his first leather goods workshop in Paris in 1872 at the age of 25. His personalised travel cases quickly became an indispensable accessory for the European elite. Rare cosmetic case from the house of S.T. Dupont. Handcrafted from high quality natural coloured leather with red insert. The interior consists of five glass containers in transparent crystal glass, a lipstick holder, a mirror and two brushes. Three of the containers have push-on lids, two containers have been fitted with stoppers and screw-on lids. All lids as well as the lipstick holder were made in 950/- silver, gold-plated and decorated with elaborate geometric engraving. All lids and the holder are marked with the Minerva mark for 950/- silver and the winged wheel mark in lozenge for S.T. Dupont circa 1925/30. Condition very good with patina, museum and collectible.
