Antique pair of butter sauce boats in sterling silver 925 / -
This extraordinary table utensil should be present in every well-kept household, e.g. to stylishly pour the melted butter over the asparagus or a fine sauce over the fish. The small pots were made like a boat (sauceboat) and stand on ball feet. They are gold-plated on the inside. It lies comfortably in the hand, the handle is reminiscent of a lobster tail. They were manufactured by the Atkin Brothers in Sheffield / England in 1910. So far we have not found any comparable objects, so we are assuming a commissioned work here. Excellent condition, absolutely worth collecting!
