Discover a piece of past splendour with this extraordinary pair of antique coin cups made of 800 silver. These historic works of art, made by master craftsman Carl Scheu around 1880 in Breslau, Lower Silesia, are a unique testimony to the brilliance of craftsmanship and cultural heritage.
The goblets, magnificent ball-footed goblets with rich relief decoration, stand on three elegant ball feet, which ensure perfect balance and stability. The conical bowl of these small masterpieces enchants with a smooth, finely crafted rim that emphasises the artistic design.
A particular highlight of these tumblers is the wall, which is divided into three skilfully designed zones. Each zone depicts a sunflower, which not only symbolises natural beauty, but also wealth and prosperity. The heads of these flowers are decorated with historical coins, making the mugs a unique collector's item. They include 2.5 and 1 silver groschen from Wilhelm I and Wilhelm IV as well as a rare specietaler "Fridericus Borussum Rex" from Frederick II from 1756.
Between the magnificent flowers are filigree pinprick engravings that perfectly complement the ornate design. The inside of the goblets reveals remnants of the gilding that once made the hearts of nobles and kings beat faster.
These cups are not only proof of the exquisite craftsmanship of the master Carl Scheu, but also a museum piece of inestimable value. Their condition is outstanding, making them a must-have for every collector and lover of historical works of art.
