Art Nouveau Pillbox in 800/- Silver
Initially, pillboxes were simple small boxes made of wood or tin in which a supply of tablets could be transported hygienically and safely from loss. Later, there is historical evidence of silver and goldsmith's works of art for them. The shapes could be round, oval, heart-shaped or square.
Pretty box with floral and relief decoration from the Art Nouveau period. Oval shape with cylindrical walls and hinged lid. The lid richly decorated with rocailles and floral relief. On the wall a relief of floral tendrils. Made around 1900.
