The Lavalier necklace became popular in the 1920s. Smaller elements, mostly also colored stones, were mostly worked on a colored stone.
This pair of earrings is reminiscent of this design. On the 333 / gold work 5 beautiful, shining amethysts in drops were hung. Amethysts are considered a purple variety of quartz. In the 60s to 70s, it became the most popular gemstone due to its strong to delicate purple shades of purple. These beautiful, hanging earrings also come from this period.
