Carnelian is an opaque to slightly translucent, two-tone red-white to orange-white banded variety of chalcedony. It was valued as a gemstone in antiquity and is particularly found on ancient rings. Even today, carnelian is offered as a gem, usually in the form of cabochons or gems. Unique modernist trailer. Round, slightly banded frame in gold. In the middle, in a rising version, a round carnelian cabochon is mounted. Unique, made by hand. Marked, mark of an unknown goldsmith, Germany, 20th century.
