The sparkling "green stone" - Greek smáragdos - has fascinated people for millennia. Emerald mining began in Egypt, where as early as the 13th century BC. In two centuries, stones were extracted in two mines that supplied not only Europe, but also the Orient and India with the precious minerals for over a thousand years. With the conquest of South America, Colombian mines replaced the Egyptian sources.
Enchanting ladies ring with a large Colombian emerald in very good quality in the facet cut. The round and high-arched stone has a frame setting and is flanked by small diamonds.The production of the ring can be categorized in the 1960s and 1970s.
