The precious coral is a type of coral from the central and western Mediterranean, which is harvested today especially near Sardinia, Corsica and Tunisia. The intense red coral has been used for jewelry making for centuries. The center of jewelry production is in Torre del Greco near Naples.

Magnificent bracelet with deep red Mediterranean corals. The round corals were threaded in four rows and combined into a bracelet. Wide box clasp, elaborately decorated with a floral pattern and another coral. Marked, made around 1950.
