Antique bonbonnière in 800/- silver
At the 1876 World's Fair in Philadelphia, the Hanau silver manufacturer Sorck & Sinsheimer presented its products for the first time. Hanau silver was in great demand in the USA at the turn of the century and consequently many of the Hanau silver manufactories produced "American" products.

Large Thanksgiving bonbonnière in silver. On four feet from the mystical depictions of the Egyptian sphinx a pressed bulbous body with wide ear handles was mounted and decorated with a narrow circulating band with acanthus relief and a wide relief band of vines and flowers. Domed plug lid with tendrils and flowers, the pommel a majestic looking, naturally depicted turkey. Marked, made by the Hanau silver manufacturer Storck & Sinsheimer around 1880 - 1900. Excellent condition, museum and collectible.
