In Egyptian, Roman and Greek antiquity, magnificent bracelets in the shape of snakes are often found - not infrequently worn in pairs. Snake was a symbol of health, fertility and eternity - the ouroboros is an image symbol of a snake biting its own tail, thus forming a closed circle with its body, which is already documented in the iconography of Ancient Egypt.
Fancy ladies bangle in silver handcrafted. The bangle has the shape of a snake with a filigree patterned body. The flat head is movable by means of a spring, the tip of the tail is set with a cap which also stabilises the body. Marked, maker unknown. Condition very good.
