The famous jewellery manufacturer "Perli" from Schwäbisch Gmünd was founded in 1922/23 by Martha May. Martha May studied at the jewellery school in Schwäbisch Gmünd and taught at the famous Burg Giebichenstein art academy near Halle from 1935-36. Her designs, in which she also liked to incorporate other materials such as wood, glass beads, felt or enamel, brought the company a silver medal at the World's Fair in Paris in 1937. The excellent design is still appreciated by jewellery lovers and collectors today.
Magnificent, richly openwork bracelet handcrafted in the Modernist / Brutalist period. Solid ring-shaped links cast in silver with a rough surface, decorated on the inside with rings and ball bearings. The individual elements are connected by hinges. Hinged clasp. Marked, made in the famous German jewellery manufactory Perli in Schwäbisch Gmünd, 1960s. Excellent condition, collectible!
