Vintage spice cruet in crystal glass and 800 silver
A (spice) cruet (actually flat table) is a part of the tableware for storing table spices: a centerpiece with vessels for salt, pepper, vinegar, oil. In addition to storage, the platter serves mainly for handy and quick serving of the spices for personal seasoning while eating. Originally in the form of a hinged stand with holders for the containers or a plate on which they were placed.
Nice spice menu for vinegar and oil. Feet stand (paw feet) with high central handle and holders for two bottles and two stoppers. The brackets are decorated with string friezes and lion masks. Two flattened bottles made of transparent, colorless crystal glass with faceted, spherical stoppers and ground stars. The frame is marked, made in Italy, around 1950. No chips or damage, very good condition.
