This exceptionally beautiful and detailed antique cameo, which can be worn both as a pendant and a brooch, is a true masterpiece of craftsmanship from around 1900. The highly oval, hand-carved shell cameo shows the raised bust of the goddess Flora in profile. Flora, the goddess of the plant world, is depicted here in the finest cut and is immediately recognisable by the lavish floral decoration in her hair, which emphasises her youthful beauty.
Particularly noteworthy is the diamond pendant set in silver that Flora wears around her neck, adding an extra touch of elegance. The cameo is framed by a delicate, openwork filigree white gold setting, which is both visually appealing and functional, as it has a pin fastening and a hinged eyelet on the back.
The excellent original condition of this cameo testifies to the high quality and meticulous craftsmanship that went into its manufacture. This cameo is not only a piece of jewellery, but also a timeless work of art that reflects the beauty and spirit of the turn of the century.
