Art Nouveau Chain Pendant Leda and the Swan

This extraordinary chain pendant from the Art Nouveau period is a real eye-catcher. Crafted in 800/- silver, it shows the mythological representation of Leda and the swan. Leda, the queen of Sparta, was seduced by Zeus, the king of the gods, in the form of a swan. This union produced the twins Castor and Pollux.

The pendant is partly openwork and shows the two figures in a sea of blooming flowers. The flowers are partly decorated with small opals, which give the pendant a special shine.

The condition of the pendant is very good. It has a slight patina which gives the piece its charm. It is sold without a chain.
