Art nouveau brooch with enamel decoration in 830/silver
Marius Hammer was born in 1847. In 1871, he opened his workshop in his native city of Bergen, which existed until 1927. Hammer was a contemporary of Fabergé and is considered one of the most important silversmiths in Norway. He became known above all for his high-quality silverware and jewellery.
Filigree art nouveau brooch from Norway. The elements are handcrafted in filigree silver and decorated with reddish brown and cobalt blue enamel. Attached to pea chains are further elements decorated with enamel. Pin catch on the back. Marked, made by Marius Hammer, Bergen/Norway, around 1900. Condition very good with age appropriate patina.
