The term Art Deco quickly became established, especially in the art and antiques trade, and referred to a style that was primarily shaped in the 1920s and 1930s and stood out from the previous styles, especially Art Nouveau. Characteristic for objects of this style were above all the design elements and an abstract decor, which were accompanied by the use of high-quality or new and therefore exotic materials.
Beautiful brooch in art deco. Geometric shape, rectangular, with strongly cut corners to which triangular, black onyxes were attached. Closed areas, partly covered with opals and small marcasites. In the center, in a claw setting, there is a square onyx, which has again been set with opals.
