Art Deco brooch with marcasites in 925/silver, gold plated
Theodor Fahrner (1859-1919) was a famous jewellery manufacturer from Pforzheim. He was one of the pioneers of Art Nouveau jewellery and was one of the first jewellery manufacturers in Europe to commission freelance artists (designers) to design the jewellery he produced. He succeeded in turning his father's largely insignificant ring factory into one of the most creative jewellery companies in Europe.
Beautiful Art Deco brooch from Pforzheim. Transverse rectangular form; surface richly decorated with applied filigree décor of twisted wires and marcasites, in the centre a blue topaz in a frame setting. Gilt. Back with security brooch. Marked, made in the jewellery factory of Theodor Fahrner in Pforzheim, around 1930.
