Antique Chalice in Gilt 925/- Silver
Beautiful gilded sterling silver chalice, probably made for the O.P.C. (Orthodox Presbyterian Church) church community in the USA. An antique large gilded altar chalice with a plain round dome with surrounding thread decoration, a six-passioned column with central baluster and a spreading six-passioned foot with hand-engraved decoration of an Orthodox cross. Accompanied by an opladen plate with the coat of arms of the O.P.C., which was adopted in a modified form by the "Franciscan University of Steubenville" from 1946. An extremely rare, original transport or storage box completes the ensemble. Made by W.J. Feeley & Co of Providence Rhode Island, USA around 1920/30. Original, very good condition with few traces of use in the gilding. Absolute collector's item!
