Antique silver flat and hollow ware from our stock

Gorgeous and rare teapot from India, chased and repousse´ decorated in Swami style (Swami ware). Square base, long square spout, hinged lid and sculptural handle with isolating slices. Lid decorated with a snake. The handle has the shape a wooden element, between two indian elephant heads holding tree trunks. Surface decorated with depicted Hindu gods and goddesses on a Kashmir shawl inspired decoration. Matching warmer with elephant heads and decorated fuel canister. Chains and holders for tilting. Marked, mark of an unknown indian silversmiths in the region Madras, marked for the import by the englisch company William Hutton & Sons in London, about 1890.
