Antique silver flat and hollow ware from our stock

Gorgeous and rare teapot from India, chased and repousse´ decorated in Swami style (Swami ware). Square base, long square spout, hinged lid and sculptural handle with isolating slices. Lid decorated with a snake. The handle has the shape of an elephant head, holding a tree trunk. Surface decorated with depicted Hindu gods and goddesses on a Kashmir shawl inspired decoration. Marked, leaf mark of an unknown indian silversmiths in the region Madras, marked for the import by the englisch company William Hutton & Sons in London, about 1890.
