A humidor has the task of storing your cigarettes at a constant humidity and air temperature. The changing ambient air influences the aroma of your cigarettes. That is why a humidor is indispensable for longer storage. The interior is usually made of cedar wood. This promotes aroma development and keeps pests away at the same time.
Rare tabatiere, or humidor for cigarettes from the Art Deco period around 1930. Usually, humidors are found almost exclusively for cigars. The rectangular box with hinged lid was made of solid silver and lined with cedar wood to allow the cigarettes to "breathe". The base was additionally fitted with leather on the outside. The condition is very good with few signs of use. No defects. Made by the Jakob Grimminger factory in Schwäbisch Gmünd around 1930.
