Blackamoor brooches have a centuries-old tradition.

The term "Blackamoor" (man with dark skin color) is rarely used today, and when, then in the historical or literary context or as part of terms, e.g. B. as a coat of arms figure in heraldry. Pictorial representations of the Mohren can be found in painting and jewelry, they also served as a company logo and in advertising for certain products, but also in the context of different customs.

Decorative needle based on an ancient model. The needle is adorned with a half-length portrait in openwork silver, which is said to represent a black. The head is carved in ebony and wears a silver turban. This and the clothes are beautifully decorated with colored stones. Can also be worn as a pendant. Excellent condition!
