Britannia metal, also called 'Britannium', is a group of pewter alloys with a bluish, silvery white color. The alloy is mainly used in Historicism and Art Nouveau for castings, including u. a. Pewter, ornaments or buttons.

A pair of very nice liquor carafes from historicism around 1870/80. Versions and plugs in Britannia metal with motifs from neoclassicism. Twisted green glass body. No chips. Condition very good, collectible.
